In short sequences, Annegien van Doorn sets in motion ordinary products of our everyday life like toothpaste, custard and mayonnaise. They evolve beyond their usual role, adopting new forms and functions. Domestic objects, usually considered without visual value, develop their plastic qualities through the artists playful, humorous and absurd actions. The trivial substances suddenly reveal their attractivity and sexual potential hidden beneath their bland and familiar appearances of manufactured products and pay hommage to imagination and creativity.
